I quickly found some physics books to literacy. This article reviews some books I have read recently.
The last three books are not physics books in a strict sense, but they are closely related and will be mentioned below.
I feel very sad after reading A Brief History of Time. This book reminds me that I need to re-examine my IQ.
Usually, when there is an original, I will read the original and the translation of this book. I found it on his bookshelf when I was visiting my little nephew's house. The enthusiastic little nephew also recommended several other books to me. That is, the above 2, 3 and 4 books.
After reading it, I found that, fortunately, I borrowed these books, which helped me to save a little self-esteem. Among them, the most substantial is seven minimalist physics classes, which introduce several basic concepts such as quantum, particle and universe in a simple way. The other two books focus on the part of interest, and the others pass by in a hurry.
It should be noted that my dear little nephew is now a junior one student. So, when I closed A Brief History of Time, I thought of his expression of strongly recommending this book to me. What a complicated mood.
Well, obviously I know every word, but I don't know what it means to connect it together-this is my mentality when I read A Brief History of Time 90% of the time.
I searched a book review in Douban, 8.8, very high! Then I went in and read the detailed comments, and found that there were many words I couldn't understand after typing the five-star message (and then returned it to the five-star! ? ), and a message said, "This TM is also called' popular science reading'! ? Please forgive me for copying dirty words, it's really vivid. Haha, I'm not alone at last.
Wan Weigang's "Never Imagine" (P 10) said that he doubted that Hawking's two books, A Brief History of Time and The Grand Design, would sell well, largely because of Hawking's fame, "because the public really don't like scientific knowledge-even Hawking's knowledge." Hawking also knows that "every mathematical formula can reduce the sales of this book by half" (this sentence really won my heart, haha. )
When you close A Brief History of Time, only a few nouns can be remembered: black hole, wormhole, metaphysical theory and quantum mechanics. Thirdly, relativity refreshes, which can be divided into general relativity and special relativity.
The three stories at the end of the book read most smoothly: Einstein, Galileo and Newton. It seems that my brain still loves these gossips, which is not good.
These stories give me a new understanding of these three scientists. Copy two episodes as follows.
At the end of the book, there is a bookmark that says: "Reading Hawking, knowing or not knowing is a kind of gain." This is for me.
Well, I'm going to study quantum mechanics for children, which should suit me.
The book "If" has been rushed through, and it took more than two hours before and after. This book mainly answers various questions from a physical point of view. The question is "brain hole" and the answer is "brain hole".
The first question is: if the earth and surface materials suddenly stop rotating, and the atmosphere keeps constant speed. What will happen?
The answer is also simple: almost everyone will die. Then I began to analyze the reasons, processes and illustrations. It took five pages.
Ask another question (P255): When will there be more dead people than living people on Facebook?
Answer: 2060 or 2 130. The main reason is that the users of FB are very young at present. Then analyze the population situation and life span. I also guessed what will happen to our facebook page after we die.
After reading this book, I know that people in this world are still thinking about such and such problems (maybe I will think about these problems when I was very young). The most amazing thing is that there are people who give answers very scientifically and seriously, putting facts and reasoning, which have both theoretical basis, logical reasoning process and mathematical formula! A cake seller.
People should pursue eating and drinking other than Lazarus.
If you think about it carefully, the physical world outlook permeates the bottom of cognition.
Now I am reading "World Outlook", which tells the "evolution" process of human cognition from the perspectives of physics, philosophy, cosmology and biology. Although reading Worldview is "destructive", I am not so gullible now. When I hear people describe something, I will think about whether it is a fact or an opinion. It's not like before. When you listen to authority, you believe it.
The uncertainty and unpredictability mentioned in Walking on Wall Street are also physical laws. Knowing this, we won't waste time studying the K-line chart and predicting whether the stock price will go up or down tomorrow. Leave time and energy for more meaningful things.
* Worldview and Wall Street Walk both recommend reading the original. Well, I suggest people with original works read it.
Physics also has the function of "anti-flicker".
"Never imagined" (P 12), tucao intellectuals must not like "foxes".
"Never imagined" P 152 mentioned:
So, I'm just secretly happy. Although more than 90% didn't understand it, I still read this brief history word by word from beginning to end. I believe that the process of learning is the process of reshaping the brain. In the invisible place, some connections have been formed.
I studied hard and couldn't understand it. Why should I read it?
The most terrible thing is not that we are ignorant, but that we don't know that we are ignorant. Our unknown fields remind us of our ignorance, and strive to grow up every day with a more humble heart.
Professor Shanyou also suggested that you study cosmology. I end this article with this passage from Wan Weigang's cosmic perspective:
