Kan's surname came from the fief of Doctor Song in the Spring and Autumn Period. In the Spring and Autumn Period, a doctor in the State of Song was named Kan, and his descendants took Kan as their surname. Later, a war broke out between Song and Lu. In the seventh year of King Huan of Zhou, the army of Lu invaded the territory of Song and defeated Song Jun in Kanyi. Since then, Karez has become the territory of Lu.

After the loss of Kanyi in Song Dynasty, Dr. Song took his former food city as his surname and called it Kanyi. Later, Kan Yu in Han Dynasty and Kan Chongsi in Tang Dynasty were descendants of this doctor in Song Dynasty.

There is also a saying that Naoto Kan's surname belongs to asylum and his surname has been changed. It is said that in the Spring and Autumn Period, a dignitary offended the king of the dynasty. In order to avoid being punished with his family, he moved to other places. When the pursuers tried to catch up, the whole clan hid in the grass, which was the only way to escape. So the whole family took "Kan" as their surname and called it Kan's.

Now the Kan people are mainly distributed in Henan, Shandong, Hebei and other places. There are about15,000 to 20,000 people in long gang zhen, yongcheng city, Henan Province, which is the place with the largest number of Kan surnames in China. In the Ming Dynasty, Kan was a famous family in Shandong, and Shandong happened to be the seat of Lu.

In the Ming dynasty, there was a minister named Jane. Jian, whose real name is Fu Zhai, is from Baicaowan Town, Baixiang County. He was a scholar during the Ming Chenghua period. Successively served as a courtesy officer of the household department, a deputy envoy of Jiangxi, a political envoy of Shaanxi, a provincial judge, and a right political envoy, and was later promoted to Huguang and Zuozheng. He is a local administrative official in charge of Hubei, Hunan and Guangxi. It can be said that he is a government minister.

Now Kanjia has two genealogies. One is the Kanshi genealogy in Linyi, Shandong Province, which is a woodcut movable type version of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty for seven years, and the other is a woodcut movable type version of the Qing Dynasty collected by the National Library of China.
