Lanzhou University Library has a total construction area of 67,000 square meters. This paper introduces Unicorn system produced by American Sirsi company, which integrates collection, lending, reading and management to meet the requirements of multi-campus libraries. By the end of 2004, there were 2.6 million paper documents, more than 2,000 kinds of audio-visual materials, and more than 5,000 kinds of Chinese and foreign periodicals were ordered every year. Literature collection is relatively complete and has its own characteristics in the collection of ancient literature and history books, natural sciences, medicine and authoritative retrieval periodicals in foreign languages.
