Tangshan Vocational College of Science and Technology is a higher vocational college invested and built by Tangshan Iron and Steel Company of Hegang Group with a history of more than 70 years. Universities are born of steel and thrive on steel. Its predecessor was Tangshan Iron and Steel Workers College, which was founded in 1949. After more than 70 years of hard work and decades of wind and rain, the school was approved by the people's government of Hebei Province in April 2003 and registered as a provincial full-time general higher vocational school by the Ministry of Education.
The college offers 24 majors, including intelligent metallurgical technology of steel, intelligent rolling technology, mechatronics technology, intelligent manufacturing equipment technology and UAV application technology. It has complete supporting education and teaching facilities such as digital management platform, library, standard sports ground, basketball volleyball court, university student activity center and academic lecture hall.
College is the first excellent college in Hebei Province to evaluate the talent training level. It has been awarded the honors of "National Advanced Vocational Education Unit", "National Demonstration Base for Training High-skilled Talents", "Garden-style Unit in Hebei Province", "Advanced Vocational Education Unit in Tangshan City", "Advanced Poverty Alleviation Unit in Tangshan City" and "Class A Food Hygiene Unit in Tangshan City" by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, State Economic and Trade Commission, Tangshan Municipal Government, Tangshan Municipal Education Bureau and Tangshan Municipal Health Bureau.

Hegang Mining Company, Haier Group, Shougang Jingtang Iron and Steel Company, Caofeidian Port Group, CNR Group and so on 100 are stable employment bases of the College, and the employment rate of graduates has always remained above 95%.
