After watching the seaside scenery in Lisbon, I started my trip to the mountain city. The first place I came was Lisbon Cathedral.

Lisbon Cathedral /Sé de Lisboa was built in the12nd century and is located on the land of a mosque. The first archbishop of the cathedral was British citizen Gilbert, who made great contributions here.
After lunch in Portugal, I walked up and down the mountain. Lisbon is a city built on a mountain, and all the roads are rugged enough.
So when most people describe Lisbon, they will say that there is no southeast, northwest, front and back, only up and down. It is also rare to find flat land that continuously exceeds 100 meters. Hiking requires climbing mountains, and it is easy to get lost because of the high dispersion. You can see city buildings and souvenirs along the way. Many trams pass by.
Lisbon Cathedral is located on a flat land halfway up the mountain. This church looks like Notre Dame de Paris. Since the 4th century AD, the bishop's jurisdiction has been established in Lisbon. From the 8th century AD to the 2nd century AD, the Arab Moors ruled Portugal. 1 147, the Portuguese army led by King Affonso enriquez and the Nordic Crusaders carried out the second crusade, drove away the Moors and built a cathedral on the site of the main mosque in Lisbon.
The first building of Lisbon Cathedral was built in 1 147 and completed in 12 10. The first archbishop of the cathedral was British citizen Gilbert, who made great contributions here.
In the future, the cathedral will continue to expand and add new buildings. /kloc-At the end of 0/3, King Denis of Portugal built a Gothic cloister. His successor, Affonso IV of Portugal, changed the cathedral into the Royal Pantheon.
It is a miracle that the cathedral escaped the biggest earthquake in Portuguese history 1755, but it has gone through hardships and vicissitudes. It is said that during the earthquake, the whole family of the Portuguese king attended mass in the church and survived. This earthquake with magnitude of 8 killed 0/00000 people in Portugal/Kloc. At that time, the population of Portugal was only 270,000. So the Portuguese always exclaim when they see the Lisbon Cathedral standing on the ground. The city of Lisbon was born in Lisbon Cathedral.
On Monday, you can visit the church.
What people see today is the cathedral restored from 1930, which combines various architectural styles, such as the bell towers on both sides of the cathedral and the rose windows in Roman style. Gothic monasteries have beautiful double arched doors, where archaeologists have excavated some remains of the Roman Road, the West Gothic period and mosques. In addition, silverware, bishop's robes, statues, manuscripts and relics related to Lisbon's guarding of the sacred Vincent are on display in the treasure room of the church.
The holy land of the cathedral surrounds St. Anthony. The most famous one is11the baptismal basin used when Saint Antoine was baptized in 1995. It was placed in a corner of the church, and the walls around it were all fables about the life and religion of Jesus drawn by Portuguese craftsmen with baroque tiles. The stained glass of the church also has the theme of San Antonio.
Opposite the cathedral where St. Anthony was born. The St. Anthony's church built for him is small and elegant, and its interior decoration is far more exquisite than that of the cathedral. The walls of its affiliated museum are covered with exquisite colorful porcelain prints, and many ancient furniture and candlesticks are displayed in hatchbacks. The basement is the place where Saint Antoine came to earth, and Pope John Paul II personally came here to pay tribute. At present, one of the three ancient churches in Macao is St. Anthony's Church. Because Saint Anthony is in charge of human marriage, that church is also called "Kao Tang".
There is a resplendent little hall in the church with seven or eight bishop's hats on the table.
There are also tombs and coffin statues of King Alfonso IV and Queen Beatrice in the main church. And/kloc-the tomb of the legendary warrior Pasikou and his wife in the 0/4th century.
After coming out of the church, I continued to walk up the hill. Next, I went to St. George's Castle. The feeling of eighteen bends in the mountain road along the way.
In the last century, there was a wave of closing trams in Europe. Trams in many cities were stopped or even cancelled, and Lisbon was not spared. Fortunately, Lisbon Trams Company, founded in 1872, has kept five lines and dozens of old trams. It is said that the tram in Lisbon is the oldest tram in Europe and has become the charm of the city. The most classic tram in Lisbon, No.28, runs through the Alfama district of the old city of Lisbon from east to west, passing through many distinctive areas. It takes about an hour to walk all the way down, from George Castle at the top of the mountain in the east to the approach bridge of April 25th bridge in the west. I don't know when the No.28 tram became a tourist hotspot. Photographers all over the world like to take photos with it, and many tourists come here to take pictures, so the No.28 tram has become a tourist card in Lisbon.
Next, I came to St. George's Castle. St George's Castle is located in one of the highest hills, and it is also the commanding height of the whole center of Lisbon. Along the high city wall and dark granite road, you will soon reach the first arch entering the castle, which is dozens of meters away from the castle. On the left side of the arch is a cliff several meters high.
Fortunately, St. George's Castle is open this day!
St George's Castle has a long history. It was built by Celts in the 5th century and then expanded by Moors in the 9th century. 1 147, Alfonso I, the first Portuguese king, conquered the castle and captured the Moors inside. It was once transformed into a palace. Covering an area of 6,000 square meters, it was once an important strategic commanding height, which was occupied by rulers of various eras.
The houses next to the castle are closely spaced and the roads are narrow. Orange trees were also found here.
There is a statue of Prince Saint George in the square. But this statue is much simpler.
On one side of the castle is a garden, with sparse trees and two ancient wells. There is a drinking trough by the ancient wall, which reveals a little charm of medieval gardens.
The platform and four walls in the castle are the best sightseeing spots. Here, you can overlook the whole city of Lisbon, the Atlantic Ocean and the sunset.
St George's Castle preserves antique castles and walls, and there are several bronze cannons made in 1842 facing the sea, which are quite imposing.
You have to cross the stone bridge to get into St. George's Castle. There are 1 1 watchtowers in the castle, and the tower at the entrance is called the Fortune Tower. It is said that it is named after the royal treasure hidden in the tower.
Walking into the castle, you can see many broken tiles that have experienced hundreds of years of historical baptism, giving people a sense of history.
Then walk into a place where the ground is all paved with red bricks, and the visual feeling is still relatively impactful.
You can also see some historical sculptures.
The castle stands at the corner with a watchtower. The watchtower is the tallest tower in the castle. There are three towers on the east wall, that is, there is another tower between the watchtower and the sunken tower, and the passage between it and the watchtower is the widest among all the passages.
Looking at the watchtower from the central tower and overlooking the tower of wealth from the watchtower. The tower of wealth is the most beautiful part of the castle. There is a passage on the inner and outer walls, and a small passage leading to the partition wall is also dug next to the inner passage. In this way, all the passages are connected, and you can walk around the wall on these passages and see the beautiful scenery around you.
Towards evening, the lights in the castle began to light up.
Standing on the high wall can not only see the scenery of the castle. Walking along the castle, you can also see the Ruhe River, the April 25th Bridge, the statue of Jesus and the whole city of Lisbon in the distance.
You can see that the streets of Lisbon are gradually lighting up.
After seeing the castle, I got off and took the tram. The colorful outside of the car is very interesting, while the inside of the tram is very historic, which is a rare experience.
When I came to the streets of Lisbon, it was probably Christmas, and the lanterns were very beautiful.
Passing by the egg tart shop, I found that the egg tarts filled with plates in the window were almost sold out at this time of night.
In the city center, the next one is the famous San justa elevator. The elevator is located on the commercial pedestrian street east of carmo Abbey, connecting the higher carmo Square and the lower street of the lower Pombar.
The elevator designer in St. justa is the engineer RaulMesnierdePonsard. He was born in Porto to French parents and gustave eiffel, the designer of the Eiffel Tower. Elevator 1900 completed, 1902 completed. Originally, steam power was used, and 1907 used electricity. In 2002, it was rated as a national historical site.
This steel elevator is 45 meters high and belongs to neo-Gothic decoration. Each floor has a different style. The top floor can be reached by the spiral staircase, and there is a balcony overlooking the Castle of Saint Jorge, Rossio and Lower Pompa. It has two elevator cars, both of which are made of wood, and can carry up to 20 passengers. Saint justa is the only vertical elevator in Lisbon.
Therefore, it has become one of the famous city symbols of Lisbon.
There are many people waiting in line under the elevator. In fact, elevators are not much different from ordinary ones. It's expensive to take a ride, but it's good to have a bus ticket. Here are some historical introductions of elevators, etc.
If you pick it up, you can see the night view of Lisbon.
After getting off the elevator, I continued to stroll on the streets of Lisbon and saw all kinds of beautiful colored lights.
It was getting late after shopping, so I took the subway back to the hotel.
The last day in Lisbon is the plane at noon. So I went out in the morning and wandered on the road. You can see some distinctive buildings.
Seeing that it was almost time, I rushed to portela Airport in Lisbon. It is said that it was once rated as one of the top 20 airports in the world.
I walked around the airport and ate a set meal that was a bit like Chinese food. Not bad.
Soon after, I boarded a plane to Madrid, Spain. And the trip to Lisbon, Portugal, ends here.
