According to legend, in the early Ming Dynasty, Gao settled here and took care of the cemetery for Li, hence the name Lijiafen. Because of its indecent name, it was changed to Li Jiayuan.
Before the founding of New China, it was a small branch township. After the founding of New China, it successively belonged to Dongjiang Yu Jingxiang Township, Daqingzhikou Township, Hongqi People's Commune, Jinxi People's Commune, Zhongbeixie People's Commune, Daqingzhikou People's Commune and "September 19th" People's Commune.

In 2006, Li Jiayuan Village began to be demolished and moved in February 2008. This residential area was named Lize Jiayuan, bidding farewell to rural houses and old hutongs.
