hangzhou grand theater

Hangzhou Grand Theatre is a key project in the Tenth Five-Year Plan of Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou City, and the largest cultural construction project in Hangzhou. The total construction area of the project is 50,000 square meters, including 1600 standard seats, 600 concert halls and 400 lecture halls. It was officially started on July 1 2006, and it is planned to be completed and put into use in 2004, so as to ensure the seventh "China Art Festival" to be held smoothly in Hangzhou.

The exterior of the grand theater presents a glass cone, and the arc-shaped architectural shape is like running water flowing into the green space. It lives by the river, and the main building extends northward, strengthening the vertical axis formed by the new municipal square and the Qiantang River. Its southwest orientation makes the facade enjoy the beauty of Qiantang River and all-weather sunshine, which accords with the "full sunshine" of traditional buildings.

As a key part of the pedestrian plaza, the outdoor amphitheater forms a bright spot in the landscape avenue, which looks like a new moon rising from the other side of the river. The function of Grand Theatre consists of outdoor theater, indoor theater, concert hall and multi-function hall. The Grand Theatre adopted international bidding for the first time, designed by Carlos of Canada, and adopted the latest international audio equipment.

Hangzhou Grand Theatre will become the first building in the rise of Qianjiang New City, and it will also become a landmark building in Hangzhou's urban construction from the "West Lake era" to the "Qiantang River era".
