How to be excellent in college?
1. Have correct cost awareness.

When I was a student, generally speaking, everyone's living expenses were not too much, and they basically came from their parents, so everyone would pay more attention to money. Because of this, some students will take part-time jobs such as distributing posters and doing odd jobs.

But in fact, as long as you spend all your time as a student and get into work, you will find that the money you desperately saved in college is really worthless. Maybe what you can earn in a month as a student can be earned in a day or two after three years of work. So we overestimate the cost of money and underestimate the cost value of time. In a sense, the "quick money" you earn is actually an overdraft for the higher salary you will instinctively get in the future.

The student days are the times when most people have the most free time. My advice is: make long-term investments as much as possible.

What is a long-term investment? A part-time job, if it is only a repetitive job, it is best not to go for two or three hundred a day, because you will indulge in this instant satisfaction and sense of accomplishment, which will not help your ability; Even if there is no subsidy to help the professor do scientific research, you should go if you are tired, because this will give you a chance to further improve. At the same time, you can get in touch with the predecessors of the industry and academia and even Daniel through the mentor. Your hard work and reliable impression on them will bring you more benefits 100 times and 1000 times than ordinary part-time jobs in the future.

Similarly, in college, you should not be stingy with some places where you should obviously spend money, such as buying books and improving yourself in your studies; Eat and drink every day, and the province will save; If there is a way to save you more study time, it is worthwhile to spend more money.

Time cost is always easily overlooked. After all, there is no hard and fast constraint on college time. For example, I didn't take CET-4 in my freshman year, so I can take it again in my sophomore year. I didn't pass the exam in my sophomore year, but I can still pass the exam in my junior year. Basically, we can always postpone this kind of thing. But if it really drags on like this, the harder it is to get to the university. For example, other students have already started their internship, but you haven't passed your vocational qualification exam; Other students have started to contact their tutors to do scientific research, and you may miss a lot of classes.

Consciously cultivate your own cost consciousness, pay attention to hidden costs and hidden benefits when making decisions, so as not to get caught up in trivial entanglements about money and forget what you should do most at this stage.

2. Learn to deal with uncertainty

In the face of uncertainty, most people tend to escape, especially in the face of possible failure. The more we grow up, the more we will find that we have to face too many uncertainties. You may have worked hard for a long time, but you still didn't get the scholarship, not because you are not good, but because someone is too powerful; You may think that you have worked hard to prepare for the interview, but all you need for the final interview position is your ability in this field.

In short, there will be more and more uncertainties, so we should learn to accept them frankly and face up to the possibility of failure in uncertain events. As long as you have a goal, this goal is correct in the long run, and you are working hard in this direction. In fact, the impact of short-term fluctuations will not be as great as we thought. What we need to do is focus on what aspects of your ability can be improved at present, rather than trying to cope with unknown changes.

For many freshmen, the biggest uncertain event recently received is the college entrance examination. Many students didn't get into the university they thought because of their abnormal performance, which caused a considerable psychological gap. The difference between famous schools and ordinary schools certainly exists, but for those who have the ability, there is not much difference between them.

On the one hand, graduate students can apply for better schools; On the other hand, as long as you are willing to work hard and accumulate your own abilities and contacts in a down-to-earth manner, you can also find a good job when you graduate, and the abilities you need at work are different from those in college. The gap between people is not caused by a sudden college entrance examination, but accumulated over time. People will make progress day by day, and they will also regress because of slack again and again. It is impossible to catch up with others by staying up late, but efforts are usually made. Keep your mind at peace and try your best to deal with the uncertainty of the outside world, and the final harvest will not be too bad.

You should have stronger goal-driven ability.

In high school, your goal was mainly academic competitions or college entrance examinations. This goal is very simple, and it is in a pure scoring system.

But after entering the university, you may find that there are many goals, such as learning programming and learning English ... how much you have learned is inconclusive. You will find that no matter what you learn, there are many unknowns waiting for you, and there are people who are much better than you. So you need to set goals for yourself, not a single indicator. In this process, we should learn to give full play to our abilities, learn to ask for advice from others, or dig useful information ourselves.

When I was in college, I often had this idea. When I met new opportunities and challenges, I always subconsciously thought "I'm not ready" or "I want to learn knowledge in senior three". Finally, looking back, I found that I missed many precious opportunities. In fact, nothing is not ready. If you feel that you are not ready, then take this challenge as a goal, prepare the ability it needs, and urge yourself to learn in this way, so as to tap your potential more effectively.

Abandoning the thinking mode of "waiting to be assigned tasks" is an important symbol of personal maturity.
