Thank you for inviting me ~ actually, I've always wanted to answer this question, but I always feel it's a long story. . .

Nuoda is a reliable and good school.

The so-called reliable, first of all, is worthy of the name. Unnc is positioned as a branch of the University of Nottingham in the UK, that is to say, all academic systems and teaching systems are consistent with the headquarters, but the geographical location is in China. The so-called Sino-foreign cooperation refers to the administrative and logistical support provided by the Chinese side (including league branches that must be provided in policy, etc.). ). China's sense of administrative existence is much weaker than that of other universities in China (for example, I met with counselors two or three times in addition to reporting in the university for about four years = = there is a personal tutorial system for academics to find personal tutors), and most people don't know who is in their administrative class after graduation. They have politics and physical education class, but they don't count as credits, so they don't have to take the exam in philosophy.

The teaching system is in line with international standards: administration is separated from teaching, and teaching is conducted in English. You want freedom, it gives you enough freedom to develop your hobbies; You have to struggle, it gives you enough vision and good conditions. The two main courses, lectures and seminars, are basically the same as those abroad. There is a syllabus in the online teaching system, and each class has related resources and reading materials. Class time is just a lecture or a seminar to discuss the results of reading and thinking.

Not that every teacher is a first-class teacher, but that every student is a first-class student. Xueba always gets up at 7 o'clock in the morning and studies until the library closes at night, but some students don't attend classes or even graduate. Less class hours doesn't mean you can play. Freedom means you have to be responsible for your own life. The examination room is almost as strict as the college entrance examination. Cheating and plagiarism are very serious things, and they will get zero points, which will directly lead to graduation.

Many cases have been described in detail by the alumni upstairs. Here are some details that I think are worth knowing:

Living conditions: Ningnuo is probably one of the few schools in China with four-person suites (each with a single room with bathroom, shower room and small living room) and single dormitory shared by men and women. You can apply for more than three years, and you can't go online. I believe that many junior and senior students who move out to rent a house can realize how important independent space is and how important an independent lifestyle is to a person's all-round development. Besides, Nino's toilet is the cleanest in China's non-upscale public places (I'm not kidding).

Student activities: the degree of freedom may be greater than that of domestic universities. It can be said that the best friends I know in college are all met in club activities. There are many people with ideas, and everyone does things out of interest and enthusiasm, and the purpose is relatively simple. Ken, who was in charge of student activities at that time, was a person I admired very much and had a great influence on me. I am grateful to him so far.

Library: The library is small, but it may be one of the few places in China with a large number of original books and foreign periodicals (although newspapers and periodicals will fall behind due to traffic reasons). Students from Zhejiang University and Shanghai universities have come to play, and the most impressive thing is the library. The place is not big, but it is small and refined. There are old books shipped from our headquarters, and the frequency and quantity of new books are increasing in the past two years. At the same time, it has the same online resources as British schools, and a considerable part of the tuition is used to buy online journals and databases.

Classmate: Many people say that Ningnuo is an aristocratic school. I think to some extent, most of my classmates are much richer than me. My parents are both working-class people, and for this reason, they didn't fully support me to go to this school at that time. But four years later, my prejudice against the rich second generation has also changed. Good economic conditions are not shameful. The comprehensive quality of students is relatively high. Most girls have good taste, are easy to trust and are kind-hearted. Students who are particularly rich at home rarely show off their wealth and are not easy to cheat and bargain.

Of course, one (perhaps not) fatal disadvantage is that, like most foreign language colleges, the ratio of male to female is quite unbalanced. . . I won't throw up. . . However, due to the increase of engineering majors in the past two years after graduation, there is still a trend of more young couples on campus ~ ~

Continuing education and employment:

About 70% of our graduates go abroad for further study (after four years, most people never want to go back to the domestic system for postgraduate study). Sure, people around you go to Niu Jian, Fortune 500 companies and foreign companies, but don't come here. It is not enough for schools to be reliable, but more importantly, reliable.

Finally, objectively speaking, compared with studying abroad and other domestic schools, there are some disadvantages:

Most of them come from China, so they have limited opportunities to speak English.

There is less freedom to choose courses, because there are not as many majors in Ningbo campus as there are in the headquarters, and there are fewer opportunities to choose courses across majors;

Unlike domestic schools, where there are no classes, senior students can practice. The academic burden of British schools is increasing year by year, with senior grades accounting for 60%-70% of graduation results. Therefore, when looking for a job, you should make plans early and work harder.

But now going abroad for graduate study, I feel that the advantage in China is that internships are easy to find, the cost of adapting to cultural differences is low, and of course it saves money.

I dare not say that Ningnuo is better than the first-class universities in China, but as a sub-provincial city with developed economy, the proportion of local students is quite large, and the admission score is increasing year by year, which can basically be regarded as everyone voting with their feet.

To sum up, in Dali, administrative intervention in teaching and lack of first-hand English resources are the main reasons why there is still a gap between domestic famous schools and foreign universities, while Ningnuo has advantages in system, which is a good choice for students who want to go abroad for further study in the future and those who have limited economic conditions but want to experience foreign education. In a nutshell, Nino is not perfect from the beginning, but it gets better every year. There are some alumni upstairs who answer questions. We watched it develop bit by bit. As a young school, it just celebrated its tenth anniversary this year. I wish it better and better.

In addition, there are many rumors about not discussing Xi Jiaotong University, Liverpool and other similar Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, but I don't understand them at all.
