[Notes]

(1) Mr. Liu, formerly known as Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, was born in a scholarly younger brother in Xiangxiang, Zhenjiang City in191. Father Liu, a Confucian scholar in Jingkou, is proficient in Confucian classics, excellent in textual research, capable of calligraphy and seal cutting, and once ran a private school as a student in the local area.

(2) 19 15 years, my husband was five years old and started primary school. 19 19 to 1924, I studied in private schools with Yan Quancheng and Li Zaizhi respectively. From 1925, he was taught by his father to read classic history books and ancient poems. Mr. Wang/kloc finished reading The Analects of Confucius, Mencius, Shi Mao, Chunqiu, Shangshu and Zhouyi at the age of 0/6, and finished reading Guan, Xun, Lao, Zhuang and Sun at the age of 0/7./kloc-7. 1993, 20-year-old Mr. Wang devoted himself to the study of Tongcheng School ancient prose, acting as his father's school affairs.

③ Zuo Zhuan Pi refers to Du Yu, the author of Zuo Zhuan Ji Jie in the Spring and Autumn Period. Among the three biographies of Spring and Autumn Annals, Mr. Wang was particularly interested in Zuo Zhuan. Since then, he opened an elective course of Zuo Zhuan in the Chinese Department of Fudan University, and cooperated with Professor Wu to revise the Collection of Zuo Zhuan in Spring and Autumn Annals, which was published by Shanghai People's Publishing House in the 1970s.

(4) Mr. Liu has extensive knowledge and profound memory. For example, many famous articles in The Songs of the South and Selected Works can be recited, and he also has a fluent understanding of the ancient imperial edicts compiled by Shangshu.

⑤ Gu Zuyu, a beginner in Qing Dynasty, was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu. Later, he moved to the west of Anhui, where Wuxi and Changshu meet, and wrote a 130-volume Summary of Reading History and Geography. According to history, he studied the evolution of geography, discussed the dangers of the situation, reviewed the gains and losses of ancient wars, recruited talents and made meticulous efforts to apply them to the world. At the age of twenty, Mr. Wang spent his whole life reading this book.

⑥ 193 1 In April, Mr. Cui Yungan introduced him to Jiangsu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Minerals as a copywriter and file registration. 1933 was admitted to Ren Wenxi, the general factory of Zhonghua Book Company in Shanghai, and he was able to browse the rich collection of books in the library of Zhonghua Book Company at will, paying attention to evolutionary geography, physical and chemical history and other disciplines. 1938, at the invitation of Shanghai Zhendan Women's College of Arts and Sciences, became a teacher of China literature and history in the senior middle school of this school. Two years later, under the recommendation of Mr. Huangpu, head of the Chinese Department of the College, he became a lecturer of the College, teaching General History of China and Prose and Poetry. 1943, Mr. Wang was promoted to associate professor and took on the teaching task of dating history. /kloc-in the autumn of 0/945, he served as a Chinese teacher in Yucai Middle School. 1946, 36-year-old Mr. Wang was promoted to professor of Aurora Women's College of Arts and Sciences. Since February this year, he has also served as a chair of Datong University, and once taught freshman Chinese to Nantong College, which was temporarily moved to Shanghai. In the next five or six years, Mr. Wang has been teaching at Aurora Women's College of Arts and Sciences and Datong University.

⑦ Shanghai was liberated in May 1949. The following year, Mr. Wang joined the Shanghai Education Union in Datong University. 195 1 autumn, I went to the Institute of Politics of East China Normal University for short-term study. Later, he returned to Datong University and Aurora Women's College of Arts and Sciences to teach. 1952 In September, colleges and universities in Shanghai were adjusted, and Mr. Liu was transferred to Fudan University as a professor of Chinese Department of Fudan University.

⑧ Song of Clear Clouds, that is, Song of Clear Clouds, has a saying, "The clear clouds are rotten, so it is embarrassing here", hence the name. Yanyuan, a garden near the old school gate of Fudan University, has winding swamps and bamboo paths, a quiet environment, and is also known as "a small bridge with flowing water". It once belonged to the private garden of a wealthy businessman. The school bought it for teachers and students to have a rest in the morning reading. It was named "Yanyuan" because of Liu Yuxi's poem "Lao Wang thanked Tang and flew into the homes of ordinary people" in the Tang Dynasty.

Pet-name ruby fairy boat hall, namely fairy boat library, formerly known as Yizhutang, is a double-story large-roof building in the west of Fudan Campus, which was the former site of Fudan Library in the 1940s and 1950s. /kloc-at the end of 0/958, the new school library was built as the office of the Chinese Department. 1in the spring of 959, the Department of Classical Literature held several symposiums here to discuss the phenomenon of ancient literature and the evaluation of writers' works. At that time, the author participated as a student representative and met Mr. Wang for the first time.

In that year, such a symposium convened by the Classical Literature Teaching and Research Section of the Chinese Department was held four or five times, each time presided over by Mr. Wang Yunxi, director of the Teaching and Research Section. Mr. Zhao and Mr. Liu, the old teachers, spoke the most at the meeting. At that time, Mr. Wang was in his prime, wearing a black wool coat, chestnut serge pants and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses. He was quick in action, full of energy and loud in voice, and put forward a series of opinions on Cao Cao, Cao Zhi, Tao Yuanming and Li Qingzhao. His article about Cao Mengde published in the August issue of Fudan Monthly was based on his speech at the forum.

In order to support the academic construction of foreign brother colleges, 1959, Mr. Wang was appointed to teach in the Chinese Department of Anhui University. Before he left, he wrote a poem "Comrade Sun Taolin went to teach in the Chinese Department of Anhui University", which fully revealed his excitement. A poem says, "It's raining, and it's raining over Jiang Lai. Come to the fourth floor of Qionglou. Cheerful people are full of gas, and the subtle theory is Gary. Take off your hat before the lamp, and the ice in the pot is completely clear. Then follow the water and stay in the spring ploughing. "

After arriving at the Chinese Department of Anda University, Mr. Liu gave a lecture on "The History of China Literature" and served as the director of the Classical Literature Teaching and Research Section. During his stay in Anhui, Mr. Yan was deeply cared and treated by the leaders of Anhui Province. Relevant parties assisted him in visiting Tongcheng and Anqing, and systematically collected the research materials of Tongcheng School. In this way, he carefully polished nirvana, carefully measured, and tried to break through the prejudice of his predecessors, which was rarely heard of in Shanghai.

1In the early autumn of 962, Mr. Wang was sent back to Shanghai, and before he left, he wrote a five-rhythm poem to bid farewell to the Chinese Department of Anda University. The poem says: "I have been to Luzhou for a long time, and the autumn wind moves the guest clothes." Chushan is in a daze, and it's raining hard. Old love can be continued, but new knowledge can be violated. Looking back at the bright moon by Chilan Bridge is even more reluctant. "When Mr. Wang returned to Shanghai, it happened that Professor Qian Zhonglian of Suzhou Jiangsu Normal University was seconded to Shanghai to assist Mr. Wang in compiling Selected Literary Theories of China in Past Dynasties. No one took over the courses that Mr. Qian studied at the Teachers College. After consultation between Fudan University Teachers College and Fudan University, it was decided to hire Mr. Liu as a substitute for one semester. The predecessor of Jiangsu Normal University is Soochow University, so it is called "Soochow Guest". The following spring, Mr. Wang turned to talk about the History of Tang and Song Literature of Fudan Chinese Department undergraduates. As soon as I stayed in school, the teaching and research section assigned me to be the tutor of this course. Through nearly half a year's listening and tutoring practice, I can not only perceive that Mr. Wang has many original opinions from his lectures, but also take care of him in many aspects, and my ability to engage in teaching work has also improved to a certain extent.

During the civil strife during the Cultural Revolution, the normal order was completely destroyed, and the school was in chaos everywhere, which made Mr. Liu at a loss. In the first few years of the movement, he first followed the youth to Changxing Commune and Shanghai No.3 Iron and Steel Plant for labor and exercise, and then was evacuated to Luodian rural area in Baoshan County. Although he is not the key target of the movement, he is often accused and criticized for some unwarranted charges. Fortunately, Mr. Wang has a harmonious personality and can save the day.

1977 At the turn of spring and summer, Mr. Wang and some teachers in the department were transported to the May 7th Cadre School in Fengxian seaside. After the summer, I also became a glorious "May 7th Warrior" there. My husband and I live under a hut, and the beds we sleep in are very close, so we have more opportunities to talk and communicate. In the winter of that year, cadres of cadre schools organized all employees to conduct "training" and made more than 60 round trips to Aliri. At this time, Mr. Wang is over 60 years old, and he is struggling to support the whole process with a bamboo pole. When he trudged to the finish line, he won everyone's applause.

197 1 in March, Mr. Wang returned to Fudan to participate in the work of the twenty-fourth history. At the same time, Mr. Wang Yunxi, Mr. Xu Baohua and the author were promoted from cadre schools to undertake this task. There are seventeen or eighteen people in the school inspection team, including Chinese department, history department, middle-aged and young people. Old experts and several middle-aged backbones are the main force of the group. At that time, Mr. Liu was 60 years old and his temples were all white.

It took Mr. Wang more than three years to proofread Old Tang Shu and Old History of the Five Dynasties. He had to commute to work by bus every day, and even gave up the rest of winter vacation and summer vacation. He is conscientious in proofreading, meticulous in checking original materials, and likes to quote historical events and put forward some abnormal opinions. Talking loudly has been talked a lot.

When collating and proofreading Old Tang Shu, colleagues in the group noticed a sentence in someone's biography, but they didn't know where it came from. Mr. Liu immediately pointed out: "This is an old text of Mandarin." One day, a reader in the city called and asked about the origin of a poem "Let the heartless be affectionate" recited by Lin Daiyu in A Dream of Red Mansions. Mr. Wang replied with the poem "Peony Poetry" by Luo Yin in the late Tang Dynasty: "Those who teach and interpret should pour out their country and be ruthless and moving." If you are sensitive, it shows that all you are good at is abdominal pain.

Mr. Liu cares about current politics, enthusiastically supports reform and opening up, and appreciates the great achievements of Comrade * * *. He believes that since the new era, intellectuals have been valued and the conditions in all aspects have improved significantly. The more we should cherish time and make more contributions to the realization of the country's "four modernizations" goal.

In the 1970s and 1980s, Mr. Liu added elective courses such as The Book of Songs, Zuo Zhuan, The Analects of Confucius, Mencius, and Selected Reading of Qing Poems to the Chinese Department, which filled the gap in the elective courses in this department. He lectures smartly, talks about police affairs, and broadens his mind with a clear understanding of righteousness, which is very popular among students attending the class. During this period, Mr. Wang's scientific research achievements, whether in-depth exploration of Hongdumen and the Three Kingdoms in the Eastern Han Dynasty, or systematic combing of Tongcheng school figures and ancient literary creation, all refer to the achievements of Chen and Rao Duo, which are of symbolic significance in their respective exploration fields. At the same time, his old satirical poems are getting better and better. The six volumes of Poems for Filling Rooms have distinctive style and mature brushwork, showing artistic characteristics of rich talents and attractive tastes.

In his later years, Mr. Liu published academic achievements such as Fang Bao Ji (1983), Fang Bao anthology (1987) and Xi Bao Xuan Shi Ji (1992), and his works include Romance of the Three Kingdoms in the Eastern Han Dynasty (1999). Among the above books, Selected Works of Fang Bao was published by Huangshan Bookstore, and the rest were published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House.

In August, 2002, to celebrate Mr. Liu's 90th birthday, the Chinese Department of Fudan University held a birthday party in huanghe road Hotel. In addition to the graduate students trained by department leaders, colleagues and Mr. Wang, the Chinese department trade union specially ordered a large flower basket with 90 roses, which added a strong atmosphere of joy and peace to the party.

Mr. Wang is cheerful and optimistic, and likes to exercise his bones and muscles. He has extracted a set of fitness methods from the past "Five Birds Play" and "Baduanjin", and his body is still light and healthy until he is nearly ninety years old. However, in 200 1 year, his mistress, Mrs. Zhang, died unfortunately, which caused him a great mental shock and his health deteriorated sharply. In July 2004, he was admitted to hospital because of a fracture of his left femur. Although the operation was successful, he was exhausted and had to stay in bed for a long time, and then he was in a coma for a long time. On the afternoon of February 20th, 2007 1 h 18, Mr. Wang passed away in Renji Hospital, Shandong Road, Shanghai, at the age of 97 (96 years according to the full year of life). After Mr. Liu's death, his eldest daughter Liu, together with Mr. Chen and Mr. Gao Keqin, compiled all his writings, including some memoirs written by his relatives, colleagues and students, into a book Liu Wencun, which was published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House in May 2009.
